Inside Tracker Update

It's been a few weeks since I received my test results from Inside Tracker. Honestly I've done ok when it comes to following the recommended food list. Friday I had a phone consultiation with Ashley the Lead Nutrition Scientist. She went over all of my test results with me and gave me some really good advice.

I highly recommend having a phone consultation with Ashley! Besides the phone consultation, Inside Tracker has a live chat option on their website. If you ever have any questions you wanted to ask them directly, just go to their website and use that feature. Or you can always email them questions at contactus@insidetracker.com.

With my heavy race schedule coming up, she recommended more iron in my diet. I would not have known that I needed that had I not spoke with her.

And now for the best news!!!! Inside Tracker is offering the best discount of the year, now until Tuesday December 1, 2015. Just use BFRMEGAN. I think everyone should take advantage of this offer. This is a HUGE savings! Yes I am purchasing my test now and will be retested in a couple months!!

3rd Test with Inside Tracker Test

Disclaimer: I paid for the the Inside Tracker blood test. All thoughts and opinions are mine.

What is Inside Tracker? Well if you use my definition it would be, a fabulous company who has analyzed my blood and told me more things about me than any doctor ever has. Oh and they tell you how to "fix" yourself using food not pills.

This is their definition!

If you would like to read the recaps of my first and second results you can.

When I purchased the test in May I opted to buy the two pack of the Ultimate Plan. It saves you a little money buying two at once. I was planning on having a test done in May, then stick to the eating suggestions and then be retested in September. Well, that didn't happen. Life got in the way. I did eat the recommended foods during June. It was just July-October that fell short. I did try to make sure I took a vitamin D supplement. I also tried to have fish at least once a week. Tried is the key word.

Here are my results:

Vitamin D went up, a tiny bit, but hey it did go up. I did take a supplement, however I wasn't in the sun as much as I should have been. In-between test 1 and 2, I was making sure I was outside by my pool almost everyday. I didn't do that this time. After looking at these results, I'm going to be going back out in the sun again. I sit outside for about 15-20 without sunscreen.

I did something right here!

I think the reason the last test was so bad was because right before they took my blood they freaked me out. The lady at the sign in desk was like "I have never seen someone get this much blood drawn." And she went on and on and seriously freaked me out. This time I knew it was going to be 9 tubes of blood I wasn't nervous. Turns out it was only 8.

This is one of the biomarkers I was most interested in seeing how I did. It went up a little!! I am eating more salmon and pumpkin seeds. In fact I've been roasting my own pumpkin seeds. I buy raw shelled seeds. I do get the bags of pumpkin seeds in the shell, but they are too salty for me.

My cholesterol went down a little.

My total Iron Group is good. This is where I get lost. My Iron and TS are high, Hemoglobin and TIBC are low, and Ferritin is optimal, my Iron Group level is optimized. So I guess it's a good thing I'm in the good area!

I have been reading how magnesium can help with hormonal imbalances. I have been trying to make sure I do get magnesium from my food. I drink VegaOne meal replacement shake, almost everyday. I add chia and raw cacao powder. I also eat pumpkin seeds and I've been back to eating oatmeal. Life may have gotten in the way and kinda sucked for me, but I didn't always just eat junk the last couple of months.

My Testosterone: Cortisol Ratio has gone up! I am 10 units from being in the optimized zone!

Why yes that does say my inner age is younger than my chronological age! I've gotten younger since my last test. Which is very surprising considering all the stress and panic attacks and all the worrying the has happened in the last several months.

The only down side to my focus foods are that I don't like eel or halibut and I'm allergic to macadamia nuts. But I will eat beef and coconut!!!

This is a new feature that Inside Tracker offers. It helps you with your goals. Everyday around 9:00am I get emails (because I set up daily emails you can set it up as you wish) giving me tips.

I didn't post all of my test results here, only the ones that changed or the ones I was watching closely. There are a total 29 biomarkers tested with the Ultimate Plan.

Overall I'm happy with my progress. I of course will be retested soon. And I will be purchasing the Ultimate Plan again. Honestly I think it's worth every penny. In the mean time, I need to start eating from my recommended food list. SO that being said, if I publicly put it out there, I can't go back on it. SO starting November 9, 2015 I Megan will eat from my food list! There it's on internet now :)

Now more than ever I really need to feel good. I am signed up for a half marathon on November 29 and December 6. A 5k on December 12 and another half marathon on December 19. No I'm not ready, but I won't give up and cancel any of the races.

If you have any questions about Inside Tracker or how the process is done, you can always ask me. They don't pay me to say great things about them. They are just really that great!!! email me at itainteasybeingmegan@gmail.com

Third Blood Draw with Inside Tracker

This morning I got up early and headed to Quest Diagnostics to have my blood drawn for my 3rd test with Inside Tracker.

When I had my test done in May, the plan was to be retested in September. Here's my post from May. That was plan. Life threw a huge wrench into that one. Also in the plan was to stick with Inside Trackers food list. That didn't happen.

I was very good about my eating habits in June. July was sorta, but may have had some ice cream and pizza and other things that weren't on list. August forget it. September and October were the same as August.

August 10 we said goodbye to our lab Mousse. He was my baby. When you can't have children of your own, your dogs are your kids. Losing Mousse was one of the hardest things I've had to deal with. In the last three months, I've hardly exercised and I eat junk food. The one thing I've done in the last month is forced myself to go to the two local fun runs here in town. It has helped pull me out of my funk.

Starting November 29, I have three half marathons and a 5k all in four weeks. Am I ready? NOPE. Yesterday I ran 8 miles. That's the farthest I've run since the Bird-In-Hand half in September. It wasn't pretty, but I did it. I am hoping this is the beginning of me getting back on track.

As far as my test results go, I'm hoping my vitamin D has finally gone into the green zone. I may not have eaten the best, but I did take my vitamin D supplement. The other results, crossing my fingers and hoping for the best!

Stay tuned....
