Turtle Krawl 5k Recap

I ran a race!! Well actually I ran two and never blogged about them. Oops....

I ran the Turtle Krawl 5k for the 3rd or 4th time, I can't remember. Anyway it's a great local race that supports the Sea Turtles.


My new motto for any race these days is to just finish. I started off slow and steady. Around .75 miles into the race I met up with a friend and started running with her. This recap will be very short because we ran together and it was fun! It wasn't about time it was just about running and having fun! It was great!


I did get a medal! And it's super cute!



Next race I think is going to be in just over a week!

First Long Run in a Long Time

My official training doesn't begin until tomorrow for the Space Coast Half. I decided to sorta get a head start. I ran 5 miles today, which is the farthest I've run since February. Wow that's crazy. Five miles was nothing for me to run a year ago. Now it's tough.

I was on the beach just before 7:00am. Took a few photos and started my run. I ran a 5k yesterday so I figured I'd slow down my pace and just take it easy. That is easier said than done. I start off running look at my watch and I'm running 9:30 pace. Last year I would have had no problem with that pace, this year not so much.



Mile 1 for me is usually my fastest and most times my easiest.

Mile 2 not bad should have slowed my pace, but kept going anyway.

Mile 3 nope. I walked way more than I wanted too.

Mile 4 oh holy hell it's hot and I'm tired and so ready for this to be over.

Mile 5 was better than 3 and 4, but not much.

It'll be easy again soon. I just need to stick with it!

I'm back

WOW I've haven't blogged since March. Where did this year go?

In the last 6 months I've been working more and running less. Well that has got to change.

Today I went and had my 5th blood test with Inside Tracker. I'm using it as a start over test. Meaning I'm starting from scratch. I've basically lost all of my speed in running and I gained weight. So today is day one again.




I want to be able to run a half marathon in under 2 hours. It'll be hard work but I will do it!!
